Welcome to Sydney's traditional jazz scene...live jazz in Sydney......Club Ashfield is the venue and with its long residency, The Bridge City Jazz Band is the band....a nominal 4 piece we have three special guests each Friday taking the band up to a 7 piece swinging trad.jazz band...and this coming Friday the 26th August sees us introduce to the regular Sydney scene, Simon Stribling on tpt lead & Lauri Lyster on drums with evergreen David Stevens on the Club's grand piano....

David Stevens is a regular piano player with us here at Club Ashfield and he's bringing with him tonight to lead the Bridge City Jazz Band, on trumpet, Simon Stribling formerly of Melbourne, then Vancouver, B.C.,Canada and Simon's lady, Canadian Lauri Lyster, also from Vancouver, B.C , on drums....they join the Bridge City Jazz Band regulars...Colin Beal on reeds, Colin Davies on double bass, myself Dennis Quinlan on banjo and John Bates on trombone/vocals....
It's shaping up to a great night of traditional jazz.....

Club Ashfield is at 1-11 Charlotte Street, Ashfield beside the Ashfield Railway station on the northern side and the gig is up on the first floor in the bistro/Charlotte Room function area from 7.30pm to 10.30pm with the restaurant serving nice food until 9pm.....I always eat there on Jazz nights....
Best of all the admission is FREE....
