Live Jazz in Sydney ...Mike Hallam is a trumpeter with a penchant for the Louis Armstrong vocal style. He's leading the Bridge City Jazz Band this coming Friday 2nd December at Club Ashfield....

This Friday the 2nd December trumpeter Mike Hallam teams up  with pianist Frank Watts and drummer Craig Lee as the three special guests to join up with Bridge City Jazz Band regulars, bass player Colin Davies, clarinettist Colin Beal, myself Dennis Quinlan on banjo with John Bates on trombone and additional vocals.....
Mike also plays trombone and harmonica and you can be sure he'll have these with him....
Shaping up to be a super night of traditional jazz....

Live Jazz in Sydney ...A powerful driving soprano saxophanist is Paul Furniss and he leads the Bridge City Jazz Band at Club Ashfield this coming Friday, 25th November 2011.....

We should feature Paul Furniss more frequently at Club Ashfield for our Friday night traditional Jazz nights.....
A powerful, driving Soprano Saxophone player he leads the band in the manner of a trumpet...and the band swings like crazy....
Phew....
Coupled with Gary Walford on the Club's grand piano and Viv Carter on drums, the Bridge City Jazz Band will be a force to be reckoned with this coming Friday 25th November....
All we need is yourself and some friends....fill the function area on the first floor....
Where is Club Ashfield....??
5 Charlotte Street, Ashfield, 20 metres on the northern side of Ashfield Railway Station makes it a very accessible venue....
The rest of the Bridge City Jazz Band, flushed from the previous weekend with the guys from the old Black Mountain JB are chaffing at the bit to play...

Live Jazz in Sydney ...Together again!! The Black Mountain and Bridge City Jazz Band...Club Ashfield, Friday 18th November 2011.......then at The Pines, Dural, Sunday 20th November...

The Black Mountain Jazz Band from Canberra closed as a band several years ago, but three of the members join The Bridge City JB thus forming the Black Mountain and Bridge City Jazz Band.....
We play together several times a year....The Pines at Dural, Central Coast Leagues Club, Newcastle Jazz Festival, Dubbo Jazz Festival to name a few.
We usually try to get together at Club Ashfield as well....
Coming up this Friday, 18th November at Club Ashfield is one of those occasions.
A gig not to be missed...
The just over a day later was are together again at The Pines, an outdoor venue, obviously weather dependant, so you'd have to check this, on the Old Northern Road at Dural...12.30pm to 4pm. There is an admission charge, could be around $12/head with concessions available, tables and chairs provided under giant pine trees , eating lunch and listening to great jazz....

Live Jazz in Sydney ...Jiri Kripac..."The bouncing Czech!!...Jiri leads the Bridge City Jazz Band this coming Friday 11th November....another great night is on the cards....

Jiri Kripac always goes down with the crowd at Club Ashfield on a Friday evening....and his "comrade in arms", pianist David Stevens joins him.....
Jim Morrell the original drummer with the Bridge City Jazz Band, retired several years now, comes back to fill the drum stool....
Has the makings of an interesting evening with great traditional Jazz.....
All we need is you to swell the audience.....
The regular Bridge City JB members make up the band....
