Jazz in Sydney...a big weekend for the combined Black Mountain & Bridge city Jazz band... Friday night 12th Aug. at Club Ashfield, then on to Dubbo, 13-14th for the big Dubbo Jazz Festival......

This coming weekend Friday 12th to Sunday 15th August features the combined Black Mountain and Bridge City Jazz Band.....
We'll play at Club Ashfield on the Friday 12th, with Tony Thomas on trumpet and Ron Cook on piano, both from Canberra and Ian Hill on drums up from Mossy Point on the South Coast of NSW.
Saturday morning we leave early for the 5 hours drive to Dubbo in the Central West of NSW as a featured band in the Dubbo Jazz Festival, Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th..the first gig being 3pm on the Saturday afternoon, so there'll be no mucking around to get there.
The Black Mountain guys formerly ran the now defunct Black Mountain JB from Canberra and join up with the Bridge City JB...John Bates on trombone and vocals, Colin Beal on alto sax and clarinet, Colin Davies on double bass and Dennis Quinlan on banjo.
The band has a tight rhythm section and with the front line swings like buggery.....
