Live Traditional Jazz in Sydney.....this coming Friday 4th May 2012 sees multi instrumentalist Mike Hallam play trumpet lead with the Bridge City Jazz Band at Club Ashfield....

Mike Hallam is  coupled this Friday 4th playing trumpet with a piano player from one of his own bands...Frank Watts and together with drummer Joel Davis they are the three special guests playing with the Bridge City Jazz Band at Club Ashfield...
The night promises to be a great one of traditional jazz...and Mike will have his trombone and harmonicas.
The regular Bridge City Jazz Band quartet join them...John Bates, trombone/vocals, Colin Beal, alto saxophone and clarinet, Colin Davies on double bass and myself Dennis Quinlan on banjo....
7.30pm to 10.30pm in the first floor Club bistro/function area...
Club Ashfield of course is beside Ashfield railway station on the northern side at 5 Charlotte Street, Ashfield....

Live traditional Jazz in Sydney.... Every Friday, at Club Ashfield, The Bridge City Jazz Band plays with three special guests...this Friday sees ever popular Geoff Bull lead the band on trumpet....

Geoff Bull is a popular trumpet player in the New Orleans idiom...extremely popular in Japan and when he plays in Sydney....this coming Friday, 27th April, he's back leading the Bridge City Jazz Band with Gary Walford on piano and Graham Hilgendorf on drums.....
With the usual quartet of Bridge City JB players backing him, you'll be in for a great night of Jazz....
So, hot foot it down for a 7.30pm start at Club Ashfield, 5 Charlotte Street, Ashfield, beside Ashfield railway station and up in the first floor bistro/function area of the Club...free admission, nothing to stop you....

Live Jazz in Sydney!!!!...Want a night of great traditional Jazz...? Club Ashfield and the Bridge City Jazz Band is the place to go Friday evenings...this Friday 20th April see's popular band leader Bill Dudley in the trumpet chair with Gary Walford on piano and Joel Davis on drums....

Bill Dudley has a following of loyal Jazz lovers around Sydney who like his style of Jazz and its presentation with his own band, The New Orleanians....
He likes playing trumpet with the Bridge City Jazz Band at Club Ashfield and this coming Friday, 20th April he's back leading the band, likely on the night with cornet....
A favourite piano player of Bill's is Gary Walford, known for his own band which plays most Sundays at the Unity Hall Hotel, and he's on the Club's grand piano on the night.
Joel Davis plays regular around Sydney and it's good to have him fill the drum chair on the evening....
Perhaps his lady, Cheryl McCarthy will sing for us....
The regular Bridge City personal are all on for the night....

Live Jazz in Sydney!!!!...Want a night of great traditional Jazz...? Club Ashfield and the Bridge City Jazz Band is the place to go Friday evenings...this Friday 13th April sees the band with special guest trumpeter Mike Hallam leading the band....

Well this post for next Friday is a little late...apologies, but I feel I've a good excuse...my daughter gave birth to her second child in the early hours of Saturday morning...A little girl..DQs a grandfather again...
On to Jazz in Sydney...
Mike Hallam's back leading the Bridge City Jazz Band on trumpet,likely to have his trombone and harmonica and a few vocals thrown in as well....
Coupled with Peter Locke on piano, Craig Lee on drums and with Mike Poore over to replace John Bates on trombone...John's elsewhere for the night- the audience will be in for a treat....
