Sydney's traditional jazz scene...live jazz in Sydney......Club Ashfield is the venue and with its long residency, The Bridge City Jazz Band is the band....a nominal 4 piece we have three special guests each Friday taking the band up to a 7 piece swinging trad.jazz band...this coming Friday 4th October we've Bob Barnard back on trumpet with Peter Locke on the Club's grand piano and Joel Davis on drums...

Bob Barnard is a jazz icon and a trumpeter on international renown, so it's super for us to have him lead the Bridge City Jazz Band with Friday 4th October...with a pianist like Peter Locke on the Club Ashfield grand piano and Joel Davis on drums together with the Bridge City JB regulars...Colin Davies on double bass, Colin Beal on reeds, John Bates on trombone and vocals and myself Dennis Quinlan back from Europe on banjo, man the night will swing like a dunny door in a southerly....

With me...Dennis Quinlan...away for two Fridays, the Bridge City Jazz Band still plays at Club Ashfield, and I've arranged for the same four special guests to play for you, with the other Bridge City Jazz Band regulars on Friday 13th and Friday 20th September 2013....
Club Ashfield of course is at 1-11 Charlotte Street, Ashfield, beside the Ashfield Railway Station on the northern side with the gig starting at 7.30pm through to 10.30pm in the first floor bistro/function area...see further down this post for map details....
