Welcome to Sydney's traditional jazz scene...live jazz in Sydney......Club Ashfield is the venue and with its long residency, The Bridge City Jazz Band is the band....a nominal 4 piece we have three special guests each Friday taking the band up to a 7 piece swinging trad.jazz band...and this coming Friday 3rd October 2014, sees Geoff Power back leading the band with Peter Locke on the Club's grand piano and Jim Morrell on drums..

The other week we had Geoff Power on trumpet and Peter Locke on piano as our special guests and it's a pleasure to have them back, but this time with Jim Morrell drumming for Friday 3rd October 2014 at Club Ashfield...
Club Ashfield...5 Charlotte Street Ashfield beside the Ashfield railway station on the northern side of the station and up in the first floor bistro/function area of the Club...7.30pm to 10.30pm....
Admission free.....
The usual Bridge City Jazz Band members join them...myself, Dennis Quinlan on banjo, Colin Davies on double bass, Colin Beal on clarinet and alto saxophone and John Bates on trombone and vocals....
Always a great night of swinging, traditional jazz....

This is a night not to be missed....George Washingmachine is such a popular jazz violinist and its great when I can get him to lead the Bridge City Jazz Band at Club Ashfield...together with Gary Walford on the Club's grand piano and Joel Davis on drums with the Bridge City Jazz Band regulars...John Bates, trombone/vocals; Colin Davies, double bass; Colin Beal on reeds and myself Dennis Quinlan on banjo the night will swing like a dunny door in a southerly wind....

Bill's Back!!...
Bill Dudley is leading the Bridge City Jazz Band at Club Ashfield this coming Friday 12th September 2014 with a popular piano player of his, Gary Walford playing the Club's grand piano, Colin Davies is away so we welcome Gary Kohrmann to play double bass for us and evergreen Jim Morrell is on drums.....
The regular trio from the Bridge City Jazz Band join them...John Bates, trombone and vocals; Colin Beal, clarinet and alto saxophone with Dennis Quinlan on banjo....making a foot tapping swinging trad.jazz band....
Should be a swinging, New Orleans flavoured night of traditional jazz....
