Welcome to Sydney's traditional jazz scene...live jazz in Sydney......Club Ashfield is the venue and with its long residency, The Bridge City Jazz Band is the band....a nominal 4 piece we have three special guests each Friday taking the band up to a 7 piece swinging trad.jazz band...and this coming Friday the 5th January 2018 sees the band back for the year with Geoff Power on cornet lead, Monique Lysiak on piano and Graham Hilgendorf on drums.....

This first gig at Club Ashfield in 2018...the coming Friday 5th January sees Geoff Power lead the Bridge City Jazz Band on cornet with Monique Lysiak on the Club's grand piano and Graham Hilgendorf on drums....they join the Bridge City JB regulars, Mike Hallam on trombone, Colin Beal on reeds, Colin Davies on double bass and Dennis Quinlan on banjo....

 Club Ashfield is at 1-11 Charlotte Street, Ashfield beside the Ashfield Railway station on the northern side and the gig is up on the first floor in the bistro/Charlotte Room function area from 7.30pm to 10.30pm with the restaurant serving nice food until 9pm.....I always eat there on Jazz nights....

Well all, the Bridge City Jazz Band is not playing at Club Ashfield this coming Friday 29th December 2017....so NO JAZZ at the CLUB....
But we're back the following Friday 5th January 2018 for the first gig of the New Year....
Best wishes to all from the band and it's special guests from throughout the year...many will be with us again in 2018...

This coming Friday 22nd  December 2017 at Club Ashfield,is the last Jazz gig for the year for the Bridge City JB and we've Dave Ridyard leading the  Band on soprano saxophone featuring another of his "Celebration of 1920's Jazz"...Carolyn Packer's on the Club's grand piano, Jim Morrell on drums and Harry Harman OAM on double bass with our regular bass player Colin Davies off on Christmas holidays in Tasmania- .....linking up with the Bridge City JB regulars.... myself, Dennis Quinlan on banjo...Colin Beal on reeds and Mike Hallam on trombone.
You'll be assured of a great night of traditional jazz....
